The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum is located 24km south-east of Winton, off the Longreach Road, and offers spectacular views from The Jump-Up. The Museum is home to the world’s biggest collection of Australia’s largest dinosaur fossils as well as life-sized bronze dinosaurs at Dinosaur Canyon. Guided tours through the Fossil Laboratory, Collection Room and Dinosaur Canyon start from 9am and run for 3 hours.

Open daily Apr-Sept, and six days a week (closed Sundays, Christmas and Boxing Days) Oct-Mar.

For a more hands-on experience, the Australian Age of Dinosaurs conducts three week-long digs per year. There are also opportunities to learn how to prepare dinosaur fossils ready for scientific study and then display.
